Today we are sharing with you some of the most amazing Guiness World Records* set in extreme sports and adventures:
1. Oldest BASE jumper:
Donald Cripps (USA, b. 12 September 1929) parachuted off the 267 m high (876-ft) New River Gorge Bridge near Fayetteville in West Virginia, USA, on 19 October 2013, aged 84 years 37 days.
2. Greatest distance cycled in 24 hours (unpaced)
The greatest distance cycled solo and unpaced in 24 hours is 890.2 km (553.14 miles) and was achieved by Marko Baloh of Slovenia at Lenart, Slovenia, on Sept. 6-7, 2008.
3. Greatest altitude for a balloon skywalk
Mike Howard of the United Kingdom walked on a beam between two balloons at an altitude of 6,522 meters (21,400 feet) near Yeovil, Somerset, U.K., on Sept. 1, 2004.
4. Deepest cycling underwater
Vittorio Innocent set the record for the deepest cycling underwater at 66.5 meters (214 feet, 10 inches) and was achieved by in Santa Margherita Ligure, Liguria, Italy, on July 21, 2008.
5. Highest mountain climbed on stilts
The highest mountain climbed on stilts happened on Mount Baden-Powell (9,398 ft 11 in) by Ashrita Furman (USA) in California, USA, on 7 August 2011. Furman wore steel peg stilts which were 104 cm high. The hike lastesd 1 hr 52 min 23 sec!
6. Longest zip wire course
The longest zip wire course is Screaming Eagle (USA) measuring 11.92 km (39,127 ft) at Historic Banning Mills, Whitesburg, Georgia, USA. The zip wire course consists of 135 ziplines including the 3,000 ft Flight of the Falcon, and would take approximately 12 hours to complete it!
7.Highest Bungee Jump
Curtis Rivers performed a bungee jump from a hot air balloon at 15,200 ft over Puertollano, Spain, on 5 May 2002.
He jumped using a 10 m (33 ft) cord, which stretched to 30 m (98 ft). After bouncing five times he freed himself from the cord and parachuted to the ground!
8. Longest surfing marathon
The longest surfing marathon is 29 hr 27 min(Ouch!) and was achieved by Ben Shaw (USA) in Kure Beach, North Carolina, USA, on 30-31 August 2014.
9. Most people on trampolines
The most people on trampolines simultaneously is 310 and was achieved by Urban Rebounding (USA) at Asphalt Green in New York, USA, on 11 June 2014.
10. Parkour – most circular jumps on a wall in one minute
The most circular jumps on a wall are 11 and were achieved by Aung Zaw Oo (USA) on the set of Lo Show dei Record in Rome, Italy on 24 March 2010. The record was part of the Italian TV series “Lo Show dei Record”.

As you can see these are just SOME of the amazing world records set by very brave (or crazy) adrenaline junkies, this goes to show you that only YOU can set boundaries, and limits to what your body and mind can do!
